The men’s basketball team enters the Elite Eight Tournament as the fourth seed, the highest ever for the Moose since the creation of the eight-team playoff format, and will take on the University of Maine at Machias at 9:00 on Friday evening.

The 6’8 center currently has 398 rebounds on the season, shattering the former record of 380 set by Moses Brathwaite in 2009-10, with at least three games remaining.

Senior Keith Chesley continued his assault on the UMA record books Saturday afternoon, when he passed Deon Cheers to become the all-time leading scorer in the history of UMA basketball; a history that goes back to 1965. The captain surpassed Cheers and went on to score a team-high 22 points in a tough 90-86 point loss to the College of Saint Joseph’s of Vermont, who are currently ranked fourth overall in the USCAA Division II.
