Jim Seavey Named UMA Head Women's Basketball Coach AUGUSTA, ME: The University of Maine at Augusta Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Jim Seavey as Head Women’s Basketball Coach. “We are thrilled to welcome Coach Seavey to the Moose family,” said Laney. “Jim has a very impressive coaching resume and his passion for developing successful teams through communication and dedication as well as his focus on building player relationships will make him a great fit here at UMA.”
Men's and Women's Basketball Earn YSCC Community Service Award The men's and women's basketball teams have earned the 2019 YSCC Community Service Award for the leadership and service within the community. For the past two years, the University of Maine at Augusta men’s and women’s basketball teams have been working with an organization that matches up children who are facing life-threatening illnesses with athletic teams. Team Impact is a non-profit that harnesses the power of teamwork by matching these courageous kids with college athletic teams. Emma and Carter Blanche, a brother and sister with cystic fibrosis, have been a part of the Moose family since August 2017.
LaFountain and Moore Earn USCAA National Recognition UNIONTOWN, PA – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced its All-American and End of the Year Award winners for Division II basketball during its National Championship Banquet at Seven Springs Resort on Saturday, March 2nd. The USCAA compliments each of these student-athletes on an exceptional season. the USCAA National All-Academic award is given to student-athletes with at least 24 credits and a 3.5 GPA. Moose Win with Last Second Three AUGUSTA, MAINE – The UMA women's basketball program hosted Senior Night on February 7th, 2019 where they faced off against the NHTI Lynx. This is the 7th year that the Lynx have graciously participated in the Moose senior night festivities. The Moose honored Caitlin LaFountain as their sole senior.
