Thompson commits to UMA
AUGUSTA, ME – The University of Maine at Augusta men’s basketball team would like to announce the arrival of Noah Thompson, a freshman from Yuma, Arizona. Thompson was a standout basketball player for Cibola High School. In 2014, he led the conference 3pt field goals made as well as 3pt percentage. At UMA, Thompson will major in Criminal Justice with the intention of working for the DEA after graduation.
“What I like about UMA is that everyone is so nice and so helpful,” says Thompson on his decision to attend UMA. He has been enjoying the wooded scenery as he notes it is different from what he is used to in Arizona. He is also very excited to call the Augusta Civic Center his home court for the next four years.
"The Moose are excited about the addition of 6' 3 Yuma, Arizona sharp shooter Noah Thompson,” boasts head coach, Jim Ford. “Coaches have called Noah one of the best outside shooters in the state. His senior stats back that praise as Noah hit 54 three pointers in his final campaign. Noah has the ability to play any of the three perimeter positions. His growth as a player has been the ability to take it to the rim and find kick outs to open look teammates. Noah is a perfect fit to the team chemistry and will make a huge impact."
