Championship Weekend Preview - Albany, New York 4/30/22
(Augusta, ME) The University of Maine at Augusta Track & Field team will be heading to Albany, New York on Saturday, April 30, 2022 for the YSCC and USCAA Championships. The Moose look to be competitive, as several athletes are seeded near the top in their scheduled events. Cole Martin, a freshman from Verona, NJ, currently sits at the top of the YSCC in Pole Vault with a clearance of 3.70m he performed at the Polar Bear Invite (Bowdion College) on April 9, 2022. Martin looks to defend his top seed competing against other vaulters from Indiana, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. Gabe Roig, a junior from Augusta, ME, broke the javelin school record with a throw of 46.80m at the SNHU Invitational on April 2, 2022. Roig is seated 1st overall in the YSCC and just behind top seed Aiden Fuller from Indiana in the USCAA rankings. Maurice Hodge Jr., a junior from Chicago, IL, will compete in the 100m, 200m, and Long Jump. Hodge looks to leap into the top spot from his current 2nd place seeding in the YSCC with a jump of 6.17m at the Polar Bear Invite (Bowdion College). Hannah Harris, a junior from Augusta, ME, will compete in both the 100m and 200m. Harris continues to improve her event times each meet and looks to move into the YSCC top 5.
