UMaine Augusta Triumphs Over Southern Maine CC (83-78)

(Augusta, ME) – UMaine Augusta Moose Women's Basketball edged out Southern Maine Community College in a thrilling victory (83-78) on November 12, 2025, at the Augusta Civic Center.

Game Overview
The matchup began with Southern Maine CC taking a slight lead, finishing the first quarter (20-19). However, UMaine Augusta quickly adjusted, outscoring their opponents (20-13) in the second quarter to head into halftime with a (39-33) advantage.

As the game progressed, Southern Maine CC fought back in the third quarter, scoring 23 points but it wasn't enough as the Moose put up 24, keeping the pressure on. The fourth quarter saw the Seawolves push hard with another 22 points, but UMaine Augusta held their ground, adding 20 points to their tally and ultimately clinching the win.

Key Performances
Bella Petrocci was the standout player for UMaine Augusta, delivering a remarkable performance with 27 points, including an impressive 6-for-11 from beyond the arc. Lillian Cox also contributed significantly, recording 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Annabelle Morris added 12 points to the score.

For Southern Maine CC, Kylie Young and Julia Reed both led the scoring with 17 points each. Young showcased her versatility with 10 rebounds and 8 assists. 

The Moose look ahead to Friday, November 14 when they will faceoff against Berkeley at Central Maine Community College at 6pm.
