Plummer named national player of the week
Junior Jamie Plummer was named national player of the week for Division II women's basketball Wednesday morning by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The forward was also named player of the week by the Yankee Small College Conference.
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Junior Jamie Plummer was named national player of the week for Division II women's basketball Wednesday morning by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The forward was also named player of the week by the Yankee Small College Conference.
Plummer (Richmond, Maine) has led the women's basketball team to a 4-2 start this season, including a 2-0 mark in conference action. She scored 22 points and 11 rebounds in a conference win over Central Maine Community College and added another 19 points and nine boards in a 61-53 win over NCAA DIII Alfred State over the weekend in the Albany College of Pharmacy Panther Tip-Off Classic, as the Moose went 2-1 on the week and are off to a 4-2 start.
Plummer is currently ranked fifth in the conference in scoring (16.8ppg) and is third in rebounds with 10.2 per game.
