In a thrilling matchup on January 26, 2025, the UMA Moose Men's Basketball team narrowly edged out the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Panthers with a final score of 76-75. This nail-biting game showcased the determination of both teams, with the Moose improving their record to 4-16 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
The first half saw a competitive start as Albany held a slight lead, wrapping up the half at 31-29. However, the Moose came out stronger in the second half, outscoring Albany 47-44 to clinch the victory.
Yonas Medfu was the standout player for the Moose, delivering an impressive performance with 26 points, shooting 9-for-14 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line and hitting a game winning "3" with only 3 seconds on the clock. His efforts were complemented by TJ Wilson, who contributed 19 points and secured 8 free throws. Trevor Beals also played a crucial role, adding 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Albany's Brett Richards was a key player for his team, leading with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
