Knights take down Moose in Opener
Haverhill, MA - After a lopsided first half the Moose did all they could in the second half but fall short in 78-66 route by the NECC Knights. UMA who found themselves down by 27 going into the half outscored the Knights by 15 in the second half as they suffer their first loss of the season.

The Moose led in a few team stat categories including +10 in points off turnovers, +8 in offensive rebounds and +2 in charges taken. The Moose were led by Elijah Smith (Odessa, TX) who converted on 3-6 from the field and 2-3 from behind the 3 point line for a total of 12 points to go with 3 rebounds 2 assists and a steal in his 23 minutes of action. Secondary scoring came from Jalaughn Jackson (Denver, CO) who poured in 11 points while shooting 4-8 from the floor and 1-1 from the 3 point line and Eric Crawford (Seattle, WA) who also scored 11 points shooting 4-10 from the field.
Keegan Scanlan (Hawaiian Paradise Park, HI) and Trevor Beals (Lyman, ME) paced the Moose in rebounding with 8 a piece. Willie Foreman (Memphis, TN) lead the Moose in assists with three.
The Moose will get back to the action this weekend for the USJ Tip-Off Tournament in West Hartford, CT. UMA @ USJ on Saturday November 6th, 1pm and will play either NJCU or Alvernia on Sunday November 7th (opponent and time depending on the results from Saturday).
