Player Spotlight: Allie Floyd

- Success in part-time job while attending UMA. Works at Nike; was voted May 2014 MVP and Q4 MVP in December, 2014. She also assisted with the grand re-opening of Nike Boston
- Interned for the Portland Pirates for the 2013-2014 season

In her first cross country meet of the season, Floyd finished in 32:38 with a mile pace time of 10:38 on a very tough Vermont course. “We are very happy to have her back this season,” says Head Coach Warren Newton. “Last year she received a concussion in the first soccer game of the year and was never cleared to compete. This season is the first time she has been able to compete on the cross country team.”
Interesting fact about Allie: She is one of the people who holds the record for the world’s longest canoe!
Favorite class so far at UMA: Floyd couldn’t just pick one class! She has really enjoyed Intro to Sociology, American Government, and Operations Management. She believes that after this semester she will also want to add Organizational Behavior to the list of favorites.
What she likes most about UMA: Floyd says her favorite part about UMA is the flexibility of the classes. She likes the fact that she can work part time while going to school full time.
Who is Allie’s mentor: Reflecting back, Floyd says she doesn’t have just one mentor. She has a collection of people made up of coaches, family, friends, teachers, and employers that have all inspired her to be the person she is today.
