Moose Take Second at NHTI Invitational
CONCORD, NH: The men’s and women’s teams traveled to NHTI this past weekend to compete in their last regular season meet of the 2014. Among the competition was Hampshire College, Navel Prep, Green Mountain College, Vermont Tech, Albany College of Pharmacy, and Central Maine Community College.
It was newcomer Salena Sawtelle (Orono, ME) with the first place finish for the Moose. Sawtelle finished the race in 29:18 earning her 6th place overall. Teammates Angelica Bulgin (Lisbon, ME) and Tali Amero (Windham, ME) were close behind taking 7th & 8th in the race. Bulgin finished with a time of 29:37 and Amero with a 29:58.
Allie Floyd (Auburn, ME) finished out the race for the Lady Moose. Floyd finished off with a time of 33:20.
Anthony Guimond (Belgrade, ME) had a season best for the Moose this week with a time of 40:23 in the 8K men’s race.
The Moose travel to Lake Placid, NY next weekend. Paul Smith's College is hosting the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Cross Country Championships at the Olympic Regional Development Authority's biathlon staging area (start/finish) and using the biathlon trails for the 5K (women's) and 8K (men's) events.
