AUGUSTA, ME – UMA Track and Field is excited to announce that Diondre Duffy has committed to the Moose for the 2020 spring outdoor season.

This past outdoor season Duffy finished 5th in the PVC Small School Championship triple jumping a 36’ 2.75 and has unofficial PR’s of 38 in the triple and 18’ in the long jump. Diondre has been an honors student while at Mattanawcook Academy and was All-Conference on both the offensive and defense side for the past two years.

When asked how he decided upon UMA, Duffy said, “The Cyber Security program brought me here, I happened to of heard about it from a friend that studied at UMA about how great the program was. Not only that but how affordable it was. Once I found out Track and Field was offered I couldn’t resist choosing UMA.”

Coach Gilpatrick is excited to have Diondre Duffy join the Moose in the spring. “Diondre is exactly what I look for in a student-athlete, he is highly motivated in the classroom and he is continually looking to improve himself and his jumps. His energy comes across in every interaction and that is a big part of finding success. When asked about what he was hoping to bring to Moose track and field Diondre said, “Hopefully I’ll bring not only leadership and positive energy, but some big jumps and first place finishes.” Duffy added about the recruiting process that, “It’s been great, the season hasn’t even started yet and I’ve already got a great amount of advice regarding my jumps from Coach Gilpatrick.”

Please help us welcome Diondre Duffy to our Moose family!  Go Moose!
