CONCORD, NH—In the first out of conference match-up for the Moose, the team traveled to NHTI for the Hogan Camps Thanksgiving Tournament where they matched up against powerhouse Dean College. The Moose came out strong forcing three consecutive turnovers for Dean College. However, Dean answered back with a scoring run to solidify an early lead, capturing a majority of their points from the charity stripe.
The Moose found the answer with a pair of hits from beyond the arc and were able to capitalize on ball movement with a 19-8 second quarter. At the half, the Moose led 29-23. Even playing from both teams throughout the second half challenged the Moose. Ultimately it came down to a strong forth quarter performance to solidify the win for UMA. Card added 7 of her 18 points in the forth, and Clark netted 4 of her 9 points in the last minutes of the game. The Moose went on to earn the win,58-56 over Dean.
Chelsea Johnson was the high scorer for Dean with 18 points.
The Moose will play in the championship game in the NHTI Tournament against YSCC opponent NHTI on Sunday at noon.
