CONCORD, NH –The UMA men’s basketball team traveled to the NHTI Holiday Inn New Year's Classic where they faced off against Berkley NYC to open tournament weekend.
The Moose faced an uphill battle against undefeated Berkley NYC who were looking to extend their winning streak to 39 games. The Knights had 6 players score in the double digits and controlled the game from tip-off.
Offensively though the Moose saw Jordan Holmes have a standout night netting a game high 28 points. Dustin Simpson-Bragg contributed 17 points followed by Noah Thompson with 12 points.
The Moose faced Springfield Technical Community College on Sunday to close out the tournament. The Moose opened the game with a pair of 3’s from Noah Thompson and Jordan Holmes. UMA continued to connect offensively through the first half leading 22-9 before the Ram’s called for a timeout.
The Ram’s fought their way back through the remainder of the first half leading 34-33 going into halftime.
Dustin Simpson- Bragg steered the offense for the Moose in the second half netting 18 points and 27 for the night. The Ram’s slowly pulled away from the Moose winning 83-60.
Jordan Holmes had 16 points and 6 rebounds while Noah Thompson contributed 9 points.
